Rosenthal — The Malibu Estate Tasting Room
The one right on the coast. Rosenthal's tasting room sits across from the beach on the Pacific Coast Highway, just north of Topanga Canyon Blvd, with a sprawling garden patio, live music on weekends, and food trucks on Saturdays and Sundays. Bring a picnic if you like (outside food is welcome, outside alcohol isn't). Beachfront wine tasting makes this an easy, laid-back anchor for a coastal-themed day.
Cornell Winery & Tasting Room
A rustic, western-cottage tasting room and shop nestled in the Santa Monica Mountains that showcases Santa Monica Mountains producers alongside wines from across California. Walk in for a glass or book a guided tasting of seven of their favorites. A great educational, low-key counterpoint to the big-estate stops.

San Antonio Winery
A genuine LA landmark — founded in 1917, a designated historic landmark, and the city's longest-producing and one of California's most awarded wineries. It survived Prohibition and still runs daily tours and tastings, with the on-site Maddalena Restaurant serving Italian alongside estate wines from Napa, Monterey and Paso Robles. Patio tastings seat groups up to 10; the cellar handles private tastings up to 40 — ideal for a larger group that wants a wine day without the Malibu drive.
Angeleno Wine Company
A cozy warehouse tasting room just north of Chinatown making natural, vegan wines from grapes grown in LA County vineyards up in Agua Dulce and the Antelope Valley — unusual varietals you won't find on most lists. A characterful urban stop for groups who care about local, small-production wine.

How to plan a vineyard tour that runs smoothly
A few things worth knowing before you book. Reservations matter. Most Malibu estates strongly recommend or require reservations, especially on weekends, and larger groups often need to book multiple tables or a private tasting — Saddlerock's guided tours and Cielo's flights fill up fast. We handle those bookings as part of planning your itinerary, so vineyard tours are best booked at least a couple of weeks ahead for weekend dates.
You can drink on the bus. Our buses are BYOB with coolers and ice included, so the day doesn't stop between estates — as long as everyone aboard is 21 or older. Tasting and tour fees are paid at each winery. Bring or plan for food. Some estates have limited or no on-site food; Rosenthal welcomes picnics and San Antonio has a full restaurant, but for others we'll build in a stop so a day of tasting doesn't get away from anyone.
Group size drives the vehicle. Smaller groups of eight to fourteen ride best in a sprinter, which also handles Malibu's canyon roads and vineyard lots better; larger celebrations move to a 25- to 50-passenger bus.
